SUPERIOR, Wis. -- A Superior man facing a murder charge is now being charged for his alleged involvement in an attack on a fellow jail inmate.

Chance William Andrews, 18, in custody at the Douglas County Jail, made an initial appearance in Douglas County Circuit Court on a charge of felony battery by prisoners stemming from a Jan. 30 incident.

Man convicted in camera store homicides appeals

LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) - The man convicted of killing the owner of a La Crosse camera store and his teenage son has filed an appeal.

Jeffrey Lepsch wants the appeals court to overturn his convictions for fatally shooting Paul Petras and 19-year-old A.J. Petras at May's Photo in September 2012. Lepsch, from Dakota, Minnesota, stole about $17,000 worth of camera equipment after shooting the two. He's serving consecutive life terms without the possibility of release.

Slenderman stabbing: Accused 12-year-old girls, Morgan Geyser, Anissa Weier due in court

WAUKESHA COUNTY (WITI) — Two Waukesha girls, accused of stabbing their friend and leaving her for dead in the woods to appease the fictional character “Slenderman” will be in court on Monday, February 16th.

12-year-old Morgan Geyser and 12-year-old Anissa Weier each face a felony charge of first degree intentional homicide.

In December, a judge determined Geyser and Weier are competent to stand trial in the case.

Death Investigation at Columbia Correctional Institution

On Thursday, February 12, 2015, at 2:52pm, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a medical emergency involving an inmate at Columbia Correctional Institution. CCI is located in the City of Portage. The Divine Savior Hospital EMS responded to the state prison. The victim inmate was pronounced deceased at CCI by on-scene medical professionals.

Body of Wisconsin native found in Fort Wayne home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Fort Wayne police are investigating the discovery of a Wisconsin woman's body inside a home last week.

The Allen County coroner's office identified the body as that of 34-year-old Jessica Fecht, a native of Portage, Wisconsin.

The Journal Gazette reports Fecht's body was found on Thursday. The coroner's office says she died at the scene, but it could take weeks before the cause of death is known.

Another arrest in Rhinelander murder

RHINELANDER (WAOW) -- There has been another arrest in a 2003 Rhinelander cold case.

Rhinelander Police say Shannon Wolf has now been arrested in connection with the death of Kenneth Wells. 

Initially, the death of Wells was thought to be drowning after they found him dead in the Wisconsin River, but the case has reopened after Rhinelander police learned new information.

Accused stabber needs competency evaluation

WAUSAU (WAOW) - A judge has ordered a competency evaluation for the man accused of stabbing three people at a nail salon in Rib Mountain, according to online Marathon County court records.

Woman sentenced for plotting ex-husbands murder

BARRON COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU)-- A woman accused of plotting the murder of her ex-husband has been sentenced to prison.

A Barron County judge ordered 30 year-old Trista Hrabak to serve 15 years in prison with credit for time served, and 10 years of extended supervision.

Investigators say Hrabak plotted the death of her ex-husband, Dan Raven, last March. They say her boyfriend, Ian Skjerly shot Raven and Robert McBain drove and helped plan it. 

24 year old shot and killed in Juneau County

NECEDAH, Wis. - A 24-year-old man is dead after a shooting in Juneau County early Thursday morning, according to a release.

 

Sheriff’s deputies were sent to a residence in the village of Necedah around 12:50 a.m. for a report of a man being shot at, officials said.

The 24-year-old was taken to Hess Memorial Hospital by Camp Douglas Ambulance, where he died from his injury, according to the release.

Complaint: Mazomanie teen threatened to kill before double homicide

MADISON (WKOW) --- A criminal complaint against 17-year old Dean Sutcliffe states Sutcliffe told his former girlfriend he was going to kill her sister, one day before authorities say Sutcliffe fatally shot 16-year Ariyl Brady and 39-year old Chris Schwichtenberg at a Mazomanie mobile home.

Bail was set Thursday at $2 million for Sutcliffe, who is charged with two counts of first degree intentional homicide.
