WAUKESHA -- The two girls accused in the Slender Man stabbing will make another court appearance Friday afternoon.
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Crews pulled a body from the Mississippi River near La Crosse Friday morning.
The La Crosse Fire Department responded to a report of a body floating in the river across from Riverside Center around 8 a.m. Friday. Crews in a boat verified it was male. The crew then returned to a landing in the area. The La Crosse Police Department took possession of the body afterwards.
Man in custody in connection with shooting death

A 29-year-old Pleasant Prairie man is in custody pending charges of first-degree reckless homicide in the shooting death early Tuesday of a Kenosha man, according to the Kenosha Police Department.
WAUSAU – The defense and prosecution in the case of 15-year-old Dylan Yang painted different pictures Thursday of what happened on the night he is accused of stabbing a fellow teen to death on a Wausau street.
Defense attorney Jay Kronenwetter said that Yang did nothing more than defend himself and his friend against another boy who had attacked them with a BB gun. Assistant District Attorney Lesli Pluster argued that Yang planned a fight with 13-year-old Isaiah Powell and challenged Powell and his friends to come fight.
GREEN BAY – Matthew Moore and Katie Heller were charged Thursday with first-degree intentional homicide for the 2012 murder of Thomas Wick at Wick’s Howard home.
Both made initial court appearances in Brown County circuit court Thursday. Heller returns to court April 3 for a preliminary hearing, while Moore’s preliminary hearing will be April 8.
Moore faces five counts, including the homicide count and three counts of perjury. Heller faces similar charges, including being party to first-degree intentional homicide and three perjury counts.
RACINE COUNTY (WITI) — A 38-year-old man has been sentenced in connection with the death of 21-year-old Bianca Vite.
A jury found Joseph Guerrero guilty of three charges: first degree intentional homicide, arson of a building without the owner’s consent and mutilating a corpse.
RACINE (WITI) — Racine police now say an investigation into the death of a 42-year-old woman discovered Sunday, March 8th is a homicide investigation. The victim has been identified as Melissa Hansen.
Police were called out to the area of 3 Mile Road and Erie Street Sunday evening, March 8th — shortly before 7:00 p.m.
They said Sunday and Monday they were “exploring several options” to determine how the woman died.
The Waupaca County Sheriff's Department has identified the man who was found dead in an apartment as Craig Paul Dake, 43, of Fremont.
Deputies say a 43-year-old woman is in custody for questioning in the Waupaca County Jail.
According to a press release from the department, the man was found dead at an apartment complex on the 300 block of Jefferson Street just before 3 a.m. March 6.
Investigators said the man was stabbed and the incident appears to be domestic. The woman is listed as the person of interest.
TOWN OF HULL (WKOW) -- The Portage County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from a residence on Larry's Drive in the Town of Hull early Friday afternoon. The caller stated two people were dead.
