Body found in Mississippi River near LaCrosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Crews pulled a body from the Mississippi River near La Crosse Friday morning.

The La Crosse Fire Department responded to a report of a body floating in the river across from Riverside Center around 8 a.m. Friday. Crews in a boat verified it was male. The crew then returned to a landing in the area. The La Crosse Police Department took possession of the body afterwards.

A release from the fire department did not identify the person, or give an age or hometown. There was also no cause of death listed. Stay with WEAU 13 News and WEAU.com for more information as it becomes available.
