Man charged in interstate shooting faces new homicide count

MADISON, Wis. - Prosecutors have charged a man accused of killing an Illinois woman in a drive-by with shooting his neighbor to death hours earlier in the day.

Milwaukee prosecutors filed one count of first-degree reckless homicide against Zachary Hays of West Allis on Monday in the death of Gabriel Claudio-Sanchez. According to a criminal complaint, Hays shot and killed Claudio-Sanchez on May after Claudio-Sanchez tried to stop him from entering his apartment.

More than 130 years ago, 29-year-old John Michael Kohler took a cast-iron water trough, added feet and enameled it, creating a bathtub. According to Kohler Co. lore, he sold it to a local farmer for one cow and 14 chickens.

Sauk County shooting victim in critical condition after shooting on interstate

MADISON, Wis. - A woman from Sauk County is in critical condition, following a drive-by shooting on Interstate 94, according to a report from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office. She was initially transported by EMS to St. Clare Hospital, and then sent to UW Hospital via Med Flight.

The shooting on the interstate in Sauk County Sunday afternoon is connected to a homicide in West Allis, according to a release from the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

Person shot by police airlifted to hospital - WKOW27

UPDATE (WKOW) --- The Dane County Sheriff's Office tells 27 News authorities shot a person this afternoon, as police remain at at the scene of an incident along Interstate 39, near DeForest.

Traffic was backed up there, as well as at another location along the interstate near Lake Delton. Lanes in the Wisconsin Dells area opened back up around 6 p.m.

It's unclear right now if and how the two scenes are related.

Manhunt underway in West Allis after reports off shots fatal shooting

One person is reported to have been killed in a shooting that has sparked a manhunt Sunday in West Allis.

Police responded just before 7 a.m. to reports of a burglary and shots fired at an apartment building in the 2300 block of S. 92nd St., according to police news releases.

Officers found an injured man in the building and moved him to safety, but he died from his injuries — presumably from the gunshots, though the most recent news release didn't specify.

31 Year Old Man shot and killed near N. 64th and Carmen

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are responding after a person was shot and killed near N. 64th and W. Carmen Avenue.

The shooting occurred Saturday, April 30th shortly after 5:45 p.m.

According to police, a 31-year-old man was shot by a known suspect during an argument inside of a home.

Police say the suspect immediately fled on foot after the shooting.

The victim died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Man gets 25 years for role in shooting of Waukesha clerk

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A 29-year-old man convicted for his role in the fatal shooting of a Waukesha gas station clerk has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Darrin Malone was sentenced this week in Waukesha County Circuit Court. He was also sentenced to 10 years of extended supervision.

A jury found Malone guilty of felony murder in February for his role in the death of 65-year-old Saeed Sharwani. He had previously pleaded not guilty.

He was one of three people charged in Sharwani's death.
