Mans body found in ditch in Fox Crossing

FOX CROSSING (WLUK) -- A man's body has been found in a ditch in Fox Crossing.

Police and the Winnebago County Coroner's Office are on scene and investigating at the intersection of Shady Lane and American Drive. The Wisconsin State Patrol has been called in to do reconstruction in case the man died as a result of a crash, but police say there is no definitive evidence that a crash took place.

2 in custody after man killed in bar on New Years Day

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police say they have arrested two suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Patrick Presley on the city’s northwest side on Sunday, January 1st. It was the first homicide of the year in Milwaukee.

The suspects are a 31-year-old man and a 34-year-old man.

Milwaukee police say Presley was fatally shot around 5:00 a.m. Sunday inside Dee’s Elegance Bar & Grill after getting into an altercation with at least two other people. Witnesses say it started after a strange man had been harassing Presley’s fiancee.

Young mother gunned down in her home

MILWAUKEE -- A young mother is the second homicide victim of 2017 in Milwaukee. Police said they know who the shooter is -- and relatives of the victim said they do too.

The family of 18-year-old Stephanie Jones said the suspect is her ex-boyfriend, 18-year-old Hakeem Tucker, and the father of her child.

Relatives said Jones' father, a 54-year-old, was also wounded in the shooting.

Police now need your help locating Tucker.

Poynette man held on $500,000 bail after armed standoff

A judge on Tuesday ordered a Poynette man to be held on a half-million dollars cash bail after an armed standoff with law enforcement in the village a week earlier.

Michael Morgan, 40, is facing three counts of first-degree attempted homicide, three counts of intentionally pointing a firearm at an officer, one count of pointing a firearm at another, one count of domestic negligence in handling a weapon, two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of obstructing an officer.

Boy dies after falling off Mt. Olympus water slide

LAKE DELTON - Lake Delton police said a boy died Wednesday night after he fell from an outdoor water slide at Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park.

The juvenile, whose name is not being released yet, and two others entered the park which is closed for the season around 10:30 p.m. Police said the area is fenced and all gates were locked. 

All three juveniles climbed to the top of the water slide. The juvenile then proceeded to sled down the slide. According to the release, the juvenile got caught in accumulated snow, tried freeing himself and fell 35 feet to the ground.

Police investigate deaths of two found in yard

Superior police are investigating the death of two people found outside their Butler Park home. 

According to a release from Superior Police Capt. Thomas Champaigne, it appears no one else was involved in the incident.

Police were called to the residence at about 10:29 a.m. and found the two people who live at the residence dead outside. Detectives and evidence technicians were called to evaluate and process the scene. The Douglas County Medical Examiner’s office was called and arranged for autopsies.

The incident remains under investigation.

Man struck by bullet as people in two separate cars shoot at each other

MILWAUKEE — A 32-year-old man was shot and wounded by a stray bullet on Milwaukee’s north side late Wednesday, December 21st.

Officials say the shooting happened around 10:15 p.m. in the neighborhood near 39th and Wright. The victim told investigators people in two separate cars were shooting at each other when he was struck by a stray bullet.

The suspects fled the area in the vehicles.

The victim was treated by the Milwaukee Fire Department. He was then taken to a hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot injury.

1 killed and another wounded after shooting at Madison group home

MADISON — An employee at a group home on Kevins Way in Madison was shot and killed on Wednesday, December 21st, and a second employee was hurt.

It happened at the REM group home for cognitively disabled adults.

Madison police said a 25-year-old man from Fitchburg was taken into custody — and they believe this was a targeted shooting.

The female employee who was hurt was in surgery Wednesday night. Madison Police Chief Mike Koval said this employee was able to call 911 after being shot at least once, possibly multiple times.

Man and Woman accused in brutal beating posted video of victim to Snapchat

MILWAUKEE — 20-year-old Devin Katzfey of Milwaukee and 20-year-old Sarah Zakzesky of Milwaukee each face one felony count of first degree reckless homicide as party to a crime in connection with the death of Delvin Mendoza-Chaparro, which happened Monday, December 19th near 6th and Rogers. Prosecutors say he was brutally beaten — and video was posted to his own Snapchat account.

According to a criminal complaint, Mendoza-Chaparro’s body was found in an alley behind a garage at the rear of a home in the area. His face and neck appeared to be severely battered.
