Dead person found near Lake Decorah

(Decorah Lake, WI) -- Mauston Police and officials from Juneau County are investigating the death of a person who was found unresponsive in Lake Decorah early Friday morning.

Juneau County DNR Warden Kyle Lynch says he was called to the scene to assist in a boat search about 1:30 a.m. He also says the Mauston Fire Department recovered the body, which was found in the water.  A posting on the City of Mauston's Facebook page says attempts were made to rescue the individual, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene by the Juneau County Coroner's office.

3 people die in separate Milwaukee shootings

Milwaukee police are investigating three separate fatal shootings.

Police say a 47-year-old woman was shot around 7:45 p.m. Saturday. She died overnight at a hospital. A second victim in that incident, a 30-year-old Milwaukee man, drove himself to the hospital with minor injuries.

In another incident Saturday night, a man in his 20s was shot around 8:30 p.m. He died at the scene.

Milwaukee shooting victim drives short distance in car before dying

MILWAUKEE —Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting Saturday that claimed the life of a 34-year-old man who was inside a vehicle at the time of the incident.

The shooter, who was also inside a car, opened fire upon the victim near the 3400 block of North Sherman Boulevard, police said.

Police said the victim drove a short distance after being shot, but then crashed into a pole.

Despite life-saving measures, the man died at the scene.

Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting.

Milwaukee woman dies after shooting

MILWAUKEE —A 47-year-old woman has died after a shooting in Milwaukee on Saturday.

Authorities said the shooting happened near 27th and Wells streets about 7:45 p.m.

Investigators said they initially thought the victim would not survive, but rescuers performed CPR and she was taken to a hospital.

Police said the victim died overnight. A second victim, a man, was able to drive himself to a hospital with minor injuries.

No arrests were made.

Milwaukee police investigate fatal shooting

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place near N. 35th and Florist Avenue Saturday, November 28th.

The shooting took place shortly after 8:30 p.m.

According to Milwaukee police, a man in his 20s was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.

Milwaukee police are investigating the circumstances that led up to this shooting and seeking a motive and suspects.

Authorities have not released any more details at this time.

Tomah man arrested in infant death

TOMAH, Wis. (WKBT) - Monroe County Sheriff's Department reports the arrest of a man for 1st Degree Reckless Homicide.

Troy Tralmer, 26, of Tomah is currently being held in the Monroe County Jail awaiting bond hearing and charging decision of the Monroe County District Attorney.

An ambulance was called on November 5th for an infant not breathing in the Township of Greenfield.

Police were notified later of concerns of the injuries to the infant.

The infant passed away due to its injuries on November 8 in a La Crosse hospital.

A release from the Iowa Department of Public Safety says 24-year-old Brandon James Thoma is a suspect in a Nov. 10 beating in a home in Elkader, Iowa.

Officials said he broke into the home after the woman’s husband left and repeatedly struck and kicked her. The woman was found by her husband when he returned from work, and she was taken to a hospital.

Search organized for 2012 Jackson County Cold Case

JACKSON COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) - 

The Jackson County Sheriff Office has organized a ground search operation Tuesday regarding a 2012 cold case.

Gene Cloud Jr. was reported missing on January 25, 2012.

Cloud Jr. was last seen after a Jackson County deputy witnessed Cloud drive a vehicle into a ditch in Millston Township. Cloud then ran away after a deputy briefly chased him.

The search will be in the area of the last contact with Cloud Jr.

Police say they have conducted other searches in that area, but Tuesday they will be expanding the search area.

Police: Man is his 40s shot near Philip Place and Townsend

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that occurred late Monday night, November 16th.

It happened just before midnight near Philip Place and Townsend.

Police say a man in his 40’s was shot. He is expected to survive.

The circumstances that led to the shooting are unknown.

MPD is searching for a suspect in this case.
