MADISON (WLUK) - A state appeals court Tuesday upheld Daniel Schmidt's conviction for the murder of his lover and her brother.
Schmidt was sentenced to two life terms in prison without the possibility of parole for the May 19, 2009, murders of Kimberly Rose and Leonard Marsh at a Gillett home.
Schmidt appealed on several grounds including that there wasn't enough evidence to convict him. But the court disagreed.
"We reject Schmidt's arguments and affirm the judgment and order. The evidence was plainly sufficient to support the homicide conviction for killing Marsh," the court wrote in its 40-page decision.
