Dead person found near Lake Decorah
(Decorah Lake, WI) -- Mauston Police and officials from Juneau County are investigating the death of a person who was found unresponsive in Lake Decorah early Friday morning.
Juneau County DNR Warden Kyle Lynch says he was called to the scene to assist in a boat search about 1:30 a.m. He also says the Mauston Fire Department recovered the body, which was found in the water. A posting on the City of Mauston's Facebook page says attempts were made to rescue the individual, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene by the Juneau County Coroner's office.
The Mauston Police Department tells 27 News today that no further information on the case is available at this time. The incident remains under investigation by them and the Juneau County Coroner's Office.
