Woman shot on eastside

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Around 4 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, the Madison Police Department said the woman who was shot on the east side Sunday evening is now in stable condition at the hospital.

According to the Madison Police Department, a 29-year-old woman was found with a single gunshot wound to the chest near North Fair Oaks Avenue and Milwaukee Street around 9:02 p.m. on Sunday.

Police said the scene has been active all night. Units from the Violent Crimes Unit and Detectives are still on the scene.

No press conference has been scheduled, but that is subject to change with details that are discovered with the investigation. 

New detectives and police units are being switched out around 8 a.m. on Monday at the scene. 

There have been no arrests have made at this time. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
