Woman dead, man in critical condition after homicide call in Winona

Winona, MN (WXOW) - -Winona police respond to a 911 call to find a woman dead and a man in critical condition. 

Deputy Chief Tom Williams of the Winona Police Department said a 911 call was received around 3:30 p.m. Friday to a home at 1516 West King Street. The call was a report of a possible homicide.

Officers made entry into the home and found a 75-year-old female deceased in the living room of the home. Officers also found an 84-year-old man in the living room suffering from what appeared to be a severe head injury.

The man was taken to Community Memorial Hospital in Winona but later transferred to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He is listed in critical condition there.

The identities of the two were not made public.

Deputy Chief Williams said there is no threat to the public. 

The incident remains under investigation.
