Victim of Madison shooting needs transplant

MADISON (WKOW) — A prosecutor says the victim of a Madison shooting needs a lung transplant after a bullet pierced her chest.

Roy Yoakum, 36, is charged in the shooting. He was formally charged Wednesday with attempted first degree intentional homicide.

Authorities say a love triangle led Yoakum to shoot a 29-year-old woman last month at a home on Fair Oaks Avenue.

A prosecutor says a transplant is needed for the woman’s recovery.

Yoakum is a registered sex offender, who was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

His bail is $300,000.
