UPDATE: Womans body found in town of Beloit home

UPDATE (WKOW) -- Town of Beloit police say a woman whose body was found inside a garage on S. Dewey Avenue has likely been dead since early Saturday morning.

Andre Robinson, who lives at the home, was taken into custody at the scene. He's being held on a probation violation and for resisting officers.

"He [Robinson] wasn't at the house and they [officers] came back and while they were attempting to make contact at the house he showed up in a vehicle and they began talking with him and at some point he become uncooperative and resisted," said Capt. Todd Christiansen with the Rock County Sheriff's Department.

Christiansen says it's too soon to say if Robinson is a suspect in the investigation.

Christiansen says there had been a fight at the home, which is why the officers were called to the scene Saturday.

An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday. Dewey, which was closed much of the day, is now reopen again, but authorities are expected to be on scene into the night and on Sunday conducting an investigation.
