RIB MOUNTAIN (WAOW) --A terrifying scene unfolded inside a Rib Mountain nail salon. Investigators say a man stabbed three of his coworkers Monday morning.
Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked this stabbing. It happened at Best Nails Salon and Spa off Rib Mountain Drive.
Sheriff's officials say two men and one woman were hurt.
"There were stab wounds and there were cuts,” said Chad Billeb, the chief deputy of the Marathon County sheriff's department. “So to what extent though I don't know."
He says there were no customers in the salon at the time. A man who also works at the salon was arrested. Sheriff's officials say he stabbed his co-workers, but they have no motive.
Carlos Hernandez, a local business owner, went to work to find an unexpected sight.
"I saw the police cars and the area was cornered off and that sort of thing." said Hernandez, who owns El Mercadito.
Hernandez says seeing all those lights and sirens was unsettling.
"There a lot of things that are changing nowadays and scary things," said Hernandez.
He's been a business owner in Rib Mountain since 1998. He's never seen anything like this before.
"I mean this is a really nice area real commercial,” said Hernandez. “Lots of people come from in and out of town. You know there's really no violence."
Other businesses in the area tell us they're shocked this happened, and they hope this never happens again.
"It's unfortunate, sad," said Hernandez
The Marathon County sheriff's department has not released the suspect's name at this point. The chief deputy says the store will be closed for the rest of Monday, as officers continue to try and figure out what happened.
