UPDATE: Man arrested for first degree murder in Beloit

BELOIT (WKOW) --- Rock County officials say they have arrested Andre D. Robinson Sr. for First Degree Intentional Homicide in the death of Brandy L. Carroll of Beloit.

Beloit Township Police responded to 1966 Dewey Avenue in Beloit on May 9 at 9:35 a.m.  The person calling says they spoke to Andre D. Robinson Sr. and told police that there was an altercation at the house and wanted them to check on them.

When officers arrived at the home, they were met by a juvenile male and left because no adults were present.  When officers returned, Robinson Sr. was arriving to the home and allowed them to enter.  Officers put Robinson Sr. and his son in the back of the squad car while searching the property.

As officers searched, they saw what they believed was a foot as they looked through the overhead garage door windows.  That is where they found 19-year-old Brandy Carroll.

Robinson Sr. tried to flee when officers let him out of the squad car to handcuff him.  Officers were able to subdue him and arrest him for resisting and a parole violation.

The Medical Examiner determined Carroll died of homicidal violence.

Rock County officials say their investigation found that Carroll and Robinson Sr. met online.  Police say Robinson Sr. picked Carroll up at her home on May 9 and returned to his home.  The investigation also found the two fought and Carroll died in the basement.  Robinson Sr. then removed the body to the garage in attempt of concealing it.

The release says Robinson Sr. was at work until he was notified police had been at his home.  Robinson Sr. left work early and found police there when he arrived.

Officials say they believe Robinson Sr. acted alone.
