Superior man charged in Duluth fatal hit-and-run

DULUTH, Minn. -
Bail is set at $250,000 for a Superior, Wisconsin, man charged with criminal vehicular homicide in a fatal hit-and-run in Duluth, Minnesota.

Thirty-year-old Justin Paul Linskie was arraigned Thursday in St. Louis County District Court. He's accused of killing 60-year-old pedestrian Susan LeGarde-Menz by striking her with his SUV, then driving into a pond Tuesday. Menz was found unconscious in the water. Witnesses told police they saw him get out of the submerged vehicle and flee. The complaint says Linskie later admitted he was the driver.

Prosecutors sought high bail because he was already on probation for a drug crime and has numerous previous convictions.

WDIO-TV reports Linskie's lawyer said his ties to the community included a mother and girlfriend and a job at a Superior call center.
