Police still searching for two suspects in Winona Shooting

INONA, Minn. (WKBT) - Officers are still searching for two males who were involved in a shooting on Sunday in Winona.

Winona Police investigate report of a shooting Sunday afternoon

At approximately 1:05 PM Winona officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Gilmore Avenue with a report of a male shot in the abdomen.

Upon arrival officers found a 31-year-old male with a single gunshot wound to the torso.

Medical personnel provided medical care, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses say the two suspects entered the apartment and demanded money from the victim before shooting him.

The suspects left the apartment in a dark-grey, four door vehicle heading Westbound.

One suspect is described as an African American male, 5'-9", 200 pounds. The other suspect is also African American, 5'5", 150 pounds, short hair, and around 25 years old.

Police report this is a targeted incident.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of relatives.

The Winona Police Department is asking anyone with information related to the incident to the call the Law Enforcement Center 507-457-6302.
