STEVENS POINT (WAOW) - A man who killed his grandfather with a scissors in 1989 is still mentally ill and must remain hospitalized.
Portage County Circuit Judge John Finn ruled Thursday that 51-year old Steven Feck remains a danger to himself and others, again rejecting Feck's request to return into society.
Two mental health specialists testified during the hearing, and Feck read a statement seeking to be released from Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison, according to online court records.
A similar request last year was also denied.
Feck was committed to a mental facility in 1990 after a jury found him not guilty by reason of insanity in the death of his grandfather.
Feck fatally stabbed Elton Favel with a scissors at his home in Stevens Point in 1989.
