FULL COMPLAINT: Patterson had Denise Closs put tape over Jayme's mouth before he shot her
BARRON, Wis. - A criminal complaint released in Barron County Circuit Court Monday provides details of 21-year-old Jake Patterson’s plan for kidnapping Jayme Closs, killing her parents and concealing Jayme at his house.
Patterson was charged Monday with kidnapping, two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and armed burglary in the abduction of 13-year-old Closs and the slaying of her parents.
Court documents indicate Patterson planned the killing after seeing Jayme Closs getting on a school bus. Patterson told police “he knew that was the girl he was going to take,” according to the complaint.

Investigators say Patterson broke into James and Denise Closs' home near Barron on Oct. 15 by blowing the front door open with a shotgun. Jayme's parents were shot to death and the teenager vanished the same day.
Jayme told officials she was asleep the night of the attack, and when her dog started barking early in the morning she got up to see why, according to the release. Jayme said she noticed someone driving up their driveway and she went to wake her parents up.
After dragging her out to his car, Patterson took Jayme to his house where he made her stay under his bed to hide the fact that she was there, according to the complaint. She said he stacked totes and laundry bins around the bed with weights stacked against them so she could not move them. He would also turn music on so she couldn't hear anything else that was happening. Patterson made her stay under his bed for up to 12 hours at a time -- including when his father would visit -- with no food, water or bathroom breaks, according to the complaint.
Jayme Closs was able to move the boxes and escape the home last week.
