Father of four fatally shot on Milwaukees west side

MILWAUKEE - Police are looking for more than one suspect connected to a murder on Milwaukee's west side.

Family members said Jay Ro was shot and killed near 30th and Cherry streets as his family and four children looked on.

They say two strange men rang their doorbell around 6:30 a.m. Thursday. When one of the children opened the door, the men grabbed the child and stormed in.

Reverend Dennis Lewis of St. Michael Parish said Ro was an usher at his church. He said the 48-year-old man tried to save his child.

"The father apparently struggled to get the son free, and in the process, they shot him," Lewis said.

Ro and his family immigrated from Burma several years ago. He recently worked at the Cargill plant until it closed down.

The children's grandparents moved to Milwaukee just a few days ago to be closer to their grandchildren.

Milwaukee Police are not releasing details of their investigation.
