Driver involved in fatal crash suspected of drug use

DANE COUNTY, Wis. (WMTV)---The driver of an SUV that was involved in a fatal crash late Thursday night in the Town of Burke has been arrested. 

According to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Noah Davis of Madison faces a charge of homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Deputies said the SUV that Davis was driving was heading south on US Highway 51 when it struck another SUV that was turning northbound from County Highway CV. The driver of the other SUV, a 60-year-old man from Wisconsin Dells, was taken to the hospital where he died. Davis was not injured.

They said speed appears to have played a factor in the crash. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia was found inside the truck.
