MCFARLAND (WKOW) --- A 23-year-old Cottage Grove man has been arrested in connection to a January crash that killed a 16-year-old male from McFarland.
The Dane County Sheriff's Office says they arrested Joseph W. Jobe of Cottage Grove on a felony charge of Causing Death by Providing Alcohol to Minor.
Officials say the investigation into the fatal crash that killed 16-year-old Joshua Kopp of McFarland, revealed that Kopp had consumed alcohol the night of the crash. A search warrant of his cell phone activity showed evidence that Jobe had supplied the alcohol to Kopp and other minors the night of the crash.
Kopp was killed in a crash January 31 at 3:45 a.m. after police say he lost control of his pick-up truck and collided with a tree on Vilas Hope Road. Kopp was pronounced dead at the scene.
