PORTAGE (WKOW) -- A former nurse is on trial for charges she tried to kill the wife of a man with whom prosecutors say she'd had an affair.
Stephanie McMillen is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and stalking.
The victim, Kimberly Tennier, has testified McMillen showed up at her house in September 2012, disguised in a wig, bandana and sunglasses, and asked for help finding a lost cat.
A criminal complaint says McMillen tried to lure Tennier to a pond in a wooded area behind the house, before Tennier grew suspicious, went home and locked the doors.
The Portage Daily Register reports investigators believe McMillen intended to kill Tennier with morphine she had taken from her work.
