Chicago homicide suspect arrested in Dane County

MADISON (WKOW) -- Authorities have arrested a man in Dane County who was wanted for a murder in Chicago.
Early Saturday morning, the Dane County Sheriff's Office was made aware Omar Dixon, 23, was staying at the Magnuson Grand Hotel on Millpond Road in the town of Blooming Grove.
Dixon was considered armed and dangerous so deputies, the tactical response team, hostage negotiators and explosives experts arrived on scene to assist in apprehending the suspect. The Wisconsin State Patrol and the McFarland Police Department also assisted.
Authorities say around 5:30 a.m., the teams had Dixon's room surrounded. The Chicago man was taken into custody without incident. He's currently being held in the Dane County Jail on a warrant for first degree murder. He's accused of a murder in Chicago on January 14.
