Beloit man arrested for attempted homicide
BELOIT (WKOW) -- A Beloit man is arrested on Attempted Homicide and drug charges after a weekend stabbing.
A Rock County Sheriff's Office deputy was patrolling near the corner of Wisconsin at Harvey Sunday afternoon when someone reporting a stabbing in the 1500 block of Wisconsin Avenue. Beloit Police officers responded to the home and found 44-year-old Shawndell Summerville with stab wounds to his back and arm.
Summerville was transported to an area hospital. He has life-threatening injuries.
An investigation revealed the suspect is Olton Dumas, 58, of Beloit. Police say Summerville and Dumas know each other. Dumas was quickly located and arrested.
He faces charges of Attempted First degree Homicide, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of drug paraphernalia. He's being held at the Rock County Jail.
