Teen arrested after shooting woman during carjacking

MILWAUKEE —A 17-year-old boy just released from probation is in trouble again after a Northside shooting.

Milwaukee police said the teen shot a 53-year-old woman Tuesday night during a carjacking and stole her sport utility vehicle.

Police said they located the teen and the SUV Wednesday morning. He was arrested after crashing the vehicle following a chase.

WISN 12 News learned the woman was shot in the cheek, with the bullet exiting near her ear.  She is in surgery and will like lose an eye.

Police said the teen's mother reported her gun stolen just hours before the carjacking.

Investigators said he had just completed probation in February on a 2010 robbery charge. Documents indicate he has been arrested at least six times since 2009.
