Suspect in Riverside Inn stabbing arrested

RACINE – The 24-year-old man identified as a suspect in the March 29 stabbing at the Riverside Inn has been taken into custody, according to Racine police.

Jesse James Moll has been arrested and is currently in the Racine County Jail, according to information Racine police released Monday morning.

“Thank you to everyone who provided tips and information,” the police stated online.

According to online jail inmate records Moll was taken into custody on Friday.

He is being held for “absconding,” according to online records.

The stabbing incident was reported at about 8:30 p.m. on March 29 in a second-floor room at the hotel located at 3700 Northwestern Ave.

When police arrived, they reportedly found a 21-year-old man in one of the rooms, suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported to Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints hospital, 3801 Spring St., for treatment of his non-life threatening wound.

Police reported that the suspect fled on foot and did not have access to a car. He reportedly left the hotel with a blanket — apparently with cartoon characters on it — over his head and may have been shirtless and shoeless.
