Slenderman stabbing: Accused 12-year-old girls, Morgan Geyser, Anissa Weier due in court

WAUKESHA COUNTY (WITI) — Two Waukesha girls, accused of stabbing their friend and leaving her for dead in the woods to appease the fictional character “Slenderman” will be in court on Monday, February 16th.

12-year-old Morgan Geyser and 12-year-old Anissa Weier each face a felony charge of first degree intentional homicide.

In December, a judge determined Geyser and Weier are competent to stand trial in the case.

Weier and Geyser are accused of luring a friend into the woods and stabbing her 19 times in May 2014. The victim survived. Geyser and Weier say they did it to impress Slenderman, a fictional character.

Following their competency hearings in December, Weier returned to a secure detention facility in West Bend. Geyser headed back to the Winnebago Mental Health Institute in Oshkosh.

The girls will be in court in Waukesha County on Monday morning, February 16th for their preliminary hearings.
