JACKSON COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) -
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said a 28-year-old man is dead and a 24-year-old man was critically injured in an apparent shooting in the Town of Garden Valley.
The Sheriff’s Office was called to W12594 E. Town House Road on Sunday at about 11:45 p.m. The caller said one of the victims was possibly dead and the other was still alive, but suffering from a critical gunshot wound.
Cory Renard, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was transported to Dane County for a forensic autopsy. Tyler Renard, 24, was transported by helicopter to Luther Midlefort Hospital in Eau Claire for treatment. The victims lived at the residence with their parents.
The Sheriff’s Office said at this time, there is not enough information to determine the cause and manner of death. Authorities believe this is an isolated incident and there is no public safety concern.
