3 suspects charged in fatal shooting plead not guilty

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Three people have pleaded not guilty in the fatal shooting of a clerk during an armed robbery at a Waukesha gas station.

Twenty-year-old Kenneth Thomas is charged with first-degree intentional homicide, armed robbery and other crimes. He's the suspected shooter in the Jan. 13 death of 65-year-old Saeed Sharwani at a Citgo gas station.

Twenty-eight-year-old Darrin Malone is charged with felony murder.

Twenty-three-year-old Jerica Cotton, who's accused of driving the getaway vehicle, is charged with felony murder and armed robbery.

All three entered not guilty pleas in court Wednesday. They're being held at the Waukesha County Jail on bail between $1 million and $75,000.
