Franklin man accused of killing his estranged wife

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (AP) -- A Franklin man is accused of beating and strangling his estranged wife to death.

Twenty-nine-year-old Sunkeun Kim is charged with first-degree intentional homicide. Police say Kim killed his wife, 24-year-old Madeline Kim, Sunday night while she was in her Brookfield condominium.

Madeline Kim had filed for divorce last month following domestic violence incidents. Sunkeun Kim had been released on bail.

Two felons charged in girls fatal shooting inside home

Two men who've done time in prison for armed robbery were charged late Wednesday in the Monday night shooting that killed 13-year-old Sandra Parks inside her home.

Isaac D. Barnes, 26, and Untrell Oden, 27, had each been arrested within hours of the shooting in the 2700 block of North 13th Street.

Barnes faces counts of first-degree reckless homicide with a dangerous weapon, endangering safety and being a felon with a gun. 

Oden is named in two counts of being a felon with a gun.

Sheriff asks hunters to look for evidence in Jayme Closs disappearance, double homicide case

BARRON, Wis. - The Wisconsin sheriff leading the investigation into the disappearance of a 13-year-old girl and the fatal shootings of her parents is asking hunters for help.

The state's nine-day gun deer hunt begins early Saturday and runs through Nov. 25. Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald asked deer hunters Thursday to report anything suspicious, such as clothing or weapons that they may come across when heading out to the woods and fields.

Man will spend life in prison for shooting woman, burning body

PRINCETON, Wis. - A 29-year-old man will spend his life in prison for shooting and killing a woman then burning her body in a fire. 

Antonio R. Contreras was convicted of first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 55-year-old Grace Reiter-Rudolph. In court Thursday, he was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole. 

Other charges against Contras -- including arson, mutilating a corpse and possession of a firearm -- were dismissed but read during sentencing. 

Search warrant sought phone records in WORT shooting

MADISON (WKOW) — Recently unsealed court records show investigators were seeking phone records that would lead them to a shooter who injured a DJ early in the morning Aug. 5 at WORT radio.

Investigators say the masked, hooded gunman got inside the broadcast studio of WORT-FM just as host Rebecca Barber’s Sunday morning show ended at 3 a.m. 33-year-old DJ Eugene Crisler was shot in the backside, as he and others dove and hid for safety.

Man identified in Dodge Co. Halloween death, believed to be homicide

TOWN OF LEBANON (WLUK) -- Dodge County officials have named the man found dead in a home Halloween night after what they believe to be a homicide.

Bradlee Gerke, a 36-year-old from Beaver Dam, was found at N901 Redwing Road in the Town of Lebanon Halloween night.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday that one person is in custody on unrelated charges.

Prison time ordered in Eau Claire strangulation case

Eau Claire (WQOW) — The Eau Claire man accused of strangling his girlfriend and throwing her 7 year old son into a wall, will serve time in prison.

Torrie Smith’s girlfriend told police he became jealous and attacked her. Her son tried to stop him, but said Smith threw him against a wall, about five feet in the air. The boy suffered minor injuries.

Investigators regroup to review leads in Jayme Closs mystery

Dozens of investigators searching for 13-year-old Jayme Closs met Friday in Barron, Wis., to review more than 2,300 tips and other leads that they've tracked since Oct. 15, when her parents were shot to death in their home and she disappeared without a trace.

"This is somewhat of a head-scratcher. That's why we're coming back at it," Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said Friday during an interview on the online news program at DrydenWire.com.

Woman shot and killed during altercation

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a homicide that happened Sunday night, Nov. 11 near 11th and Keefe. It happened around 7:30 p.m.

Police say the victim, a 19-year-old woman, and the suspect had an altercation outside of a residence when the victim suffered a serious gunshot wound.

She was taken to a local hospital -- where she died as a result of her injuries.
